Things people ask before they join

Who can join Jam Time?

Jam Time is for over 18 year olds that can play guitar, drums, bass or sing.

Do I need to bring my own equipment?

If you are a guitarist all you need to bring is your guitar. We will have a PA system set up so you don’t need to bring your own amp. We also have our own drum kits for drummers and microphones for vocals.

How will I know if I’m good enough to join?

There is no pressure to be of a certain standard. The main aim is to enjoy playing music together. We have a set list of core songs we play. If you can play some of these then you will be fine.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We use electric drum kits so we can get the mix levels right through the PA system. All you need to bring is your preferred sticks. If you wanted to bring your own stool and drum pedals that’s fine too.

You are welcome to bring your own pedals. Please bring your own power supply and cables to make sure you can use them as you normally would. We may not be able to accommodate amps. Please ask and check before bringing one.

Just yourself! We will have microphones for you to use. If there is specific equipment you would like to bring please get in touch.

Not yet! We don’t provide lessons but we can recommend various instructors for either online lessons or face to face.

We have backing track software that can stand in for any missing instrument to make sure we can always play.

Jam Time uses a subscription to make our memberships more convenient for our members. A subscription means you don’t have to remember to make a payment every week or month to keep your membership active. A subscription also means you don’t have to worry about higher payments if there are extra sessions in a calendar month. Everything is kept simple and easy to manage.

Yes, you can cancel your subscription any time. If possible please try to give us a heads up. Our jam sessions have limited spaces to make sure everyone gets proper play time so the other members will miss you if you leave suddenly and we can’t fill your space.

The number of people at each session is limited to a maximum of 15. This is to give everyone plenty of quality playing time. We know you are at the session to have fun and play, not to sit around watching others all night. We also think about the amount of the same instruments at a jam. It won’t be a great experience for any one if there are too many drummers or guitarists.

We will use a waiting list and let you know as soon as a space opens up or we introduce a new session. Our aim is to make sure the quality and enjoyment of each session is high.
